Celebrating Native American Baseball with Na7ive Na7ions
Native American baseball made history this summer as the Desert Dingers shined at the inaugural Na7ive Na7ions tournament. Desert Dingers brought energy, talent, and heart to the very first Na7ive Na7ions all-Indigenous baseball tournament, making history at Salt River Fields at Talking Stick this summer.
With 12 teams from across seven states, the tournament showcased the power of community and competition. Among them, the Desert Dingers of the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community stood out for their teamwork and spirit — leaving a mark that will be remembered long after the final pitch.

The opening ceremonies set the tone: dignitaries and tribal leaders joined together, the national anthem was presented in O’odham, and DJ Carrasco — founder of Na7ive Na7ions — received the ceremonial first pitch. Even Arizona Diamondbacks legend Luis Gonzalez was there to cheer on athletes and celebrate the occasion.
This inaugural tournament was more than just competition — it was about representation, culture, and building a future for Native American baseball and Indigenous youth in sport. is just the beginning.
